Automated Media Monitoring, Verification & Reporting Platform

1. Objective

To design and deploy an end-to-end automated media monitoring and factual verification platform that:

- Collects and monitors media mentions across multiple sources.

- Automatically extracts and verifies factual claims using OpenAI’s web retrieval and reasoning capabilities.

- Generates client-ready reports and correction drafts with a human-in-the-loop review process.

- Enables your team to manage client accounts, keywords, and reports from a centralized web portal.

This unified solution combines Media Monitoring System with OpenAI-Powered Factual Verification into a seamless automation and intelligence ecosystem.

2. High-Level Architecture

Automated Data Monitoring:

Sources: Google Search, Google News, independent media websites, Critical Mention and Newswhip.

Scheduled scraping and keyword-based data collection (company names, executive names, and related terms).

Data collected: article URL, outlet, title, publish date, snippet, matched keywords, and full text.

Note on Web Data Collection

All data collection and scraping activities will strictly comply with each website’s Terms of Service, robots.txt rules, and applicable data privacy laws.

Only publicly available information will be accessed, and no attempts will be made to bypass authentication, paywalls, or restricted content.

AI-Powered Factual Verification (OpenAI Integration):

Triggered automatically upon new article detection or manual selection from the portal.

Claim Extraction (GPT-4o): Identify factual claims (quantitative, date-based, or statement-based).

Web Retrieval & Verification (GPT-4.1-reasoning / GPT-4o-mini): Validate claims with trusted sources.

Factual Error Detection: Flag high-confidence false claims by type and severity.

Correction Drafting (GPT-4o-mini): Generate polite correction emails with verified evidence.

Email-Based Human Review Workflow:

Automated email summaries of AI-verified claims and correction drafts.

Reviewers can approve, edit, or reject directly via email:

- APPROVE → Sends correction to publication
- EDIT → Sends revised version
- REJECT → Closes item.

Report Generation & Delivery:

Daily, scheduled, or on-demand reports per client.

Includes factual verification summaries and human review before delivery.

Delivered in PDF, Excel, or Word format.

3. Project Scope

The combined platform will support up to 30–35 client profiles, each with unique configurations for keywords, reporting frequencies, and verification workflows.

Scope Includes:
- Web portal design and development

- Automated scraping and media aggregation

- Factual error detection and correction draft generation

- Configurable reporting system with email automation

- Admin/Client access levels and permissions

4. Exclusions

- Third-party subscription costs (Critical Mention, premium APIs, etc.)

- Cloud hosting or infrastructure

- Post-launch feature additions or CRM integrations

- Sentiment analysis or tone detection beyond factual validation

5. Training & Knowledge Transfer

One virtual training session covering all modules (monitoring, verification, reporting).

Access to user documentation and a recorded session for future onboarding.

6. Post-Launch Support & Maintenance

Initial Support (Included): Two weeks of technical support post go-live.

After two weeks the general Support Includes:

- Continuous system monitoring and scraper updates

- Portal maintenance, bug fixes, and verification model upkeep

- Database optimization and keyword adjustments

- Incident response within 24 hours and quarterly performance reviews
